RTI deadline for parties for appointing pio ends today

Deadline set by the Central Information Commission (CIC) for appointing public information officers (PIO) ends today. Although, under Right To information (RTI) Act, the CIC has recognised the political parties as public authorities, it does not have authority to take suo moto in case of disobedience.
