Rubber planters of Tripura rejoice

Rubber planters in Tripura are rejoicing, as a rubber processing plant to roll out rubber threads has been set up on the outskirts of Agartala. The rubber thread industry will consume the entire latex produced by the farmers of the state for making value added commodities. Since there was no rubber processing factory in the state, only 10 per cent of the yield from the plantations was consumed locally, while the rest was either sold to buyers from outside the state or exported to Bangladesh.
