Sachan death case: Ex-CMO AK Shukla arrested

In a major breakthrough, police arrested former Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Uttar Pradesh, A.K Shukla, over corruption charges in Lucknow on Tuesday. Shukla was under police scanner for his alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds along with the then deputy CMO, Dr. Y. S. Sachan, who was recently found dead under mysterious circumstances in a prison compound in the city. According to reports, Shukla was named as one of the culprits in connection with facilitating financial irregularities in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) along with Sachan.
