Safety review of reactors essential: Nuclear Scientists

Expressing concern on the simmering nuclear crisis in Japan, India's eminent nuclear scientists, Anil Kakodkar and Abdul Kalam, also the former Indian president, on Friday called for immediate safety reviews on reactors based across the country to avert any eventuality. Asserting that the conditions in India and Japan were vastly different, Kalam stressed on the need for an overhaul in existing nuclear safety mechanism.
