Samajwadi Party names Sanjay Dutt for elections

Regional Samajwadi Party of Uttar Pradesh has planned to field Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt as its candidate from Lucknow in the forthcoming elections to the Lok Sabha. The party's President Mulayam Singh and General Secretary Amar Singh disclosed this information in New Delhi on Thursday. Samajwadi party would seek permission from the Supreme Court and the Election Commission to allow Sanjay Dutt to contest elections as he is convicted under the Arms Act.
