Scores injured in Kashmir protest

Police and paramilitary baton charged demonstrators in Srinagar on Saturday protesting against the use of force on separatist leaders during a rally in the city on July 4. Separatist leader Shabir Shah was among several injured in the police action on Friday when they were trying to take out a rally from the historical Jamia Masjid to Hazratbal shrine. Two senior Hurriyat conference leaders Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Omer Farooq were earlier placed under house arrest.
