Sikh hardliners holding posters of Bhindranwale, a dreaded militant worshipped by many as a martyr, offered prayers at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Saturday to mark the 25th anniversary of Operation Blue Star, that was carried out in 1984 to flush out rebels from the shrine. Supporters of Bhindranwale also demanded the construction of a memorial in his name.
