Top DGCA official RS Passi sacked

The controversial director of air safety at the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), R.S. Passi, was on Tuesday sacked from his position. The disciplinary action was taken after SpiceJet wrote to DGCA chief Bharat Bhushan that Passi's daughter, Garima Passi, got a job as a pilot with the airline under extraordinary circumstances. Garima had quit the airline last month. She is said to have had a poor performance record and shockingly, fear of flying.
