Foreign tourists continued to throng Mumbai city despite fears of a rerun of the 26/11 attacks on the second anniversary of the militant strike, which killed more than 166 people. A red alert was sounded in Mumbai by union Home Ministry, ahead of the second anniversary of the attacks, based on credible intelligence about the Pakistan-based militant group, Lashkar-e-Taiba. Despite the heightened security, foreign tourists were seen visiting the Gateway of India and other sites of the attacks. They downplayed the threat, saying that everyone had recovered quickly.
