Traditional net woodcarving makes a comeback

The six hundred-year-old tradition of net wood carving in India's northern Kashmir, is being rejuvenated.Fearing extinction of this traditional art, artisans have now developed new and attractive designs to revive this trade.These net wood carvings had high demand as the affluent people of theState used it for windowpanes and doors of their houses but with the passage of time the demand for this art declined.
