Two armymen arrested over Pune girl rape

Police in Pune arrested two soldiers of Rajputana Rifles, an infantry regiment of the Indian Army for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl. The two accused were produced before a city magistrate on Friday. The duo has been identified as Rajneesh Kumar Sureshchandra and Suminder Singh Mahipal Singh. They allegedly raped the girl on Wednesday after beating up her lover. Reportedly, the girl was with her boyfriend in the Pimpri area when his motorcycle ran out of fuel. At that very moment, the two accused persons spotted them and beat up the boyfriend before assaulting the girl who later filed a complaint with the police. When the two soldiers were brought to the court, members of women's wing of Shiv Sena raised slogans against the accused.
