Acting on a tip-off, Jharkhand police arrested a Maoist activist, wanted in several cases, from the state's Gumla town on Monday. Officials said the activist, identified as Damodar Singh, was involved in several cases of murder, besides instigating violence in the area. Besides currency notes huge cache of arms and ammunition including a double barrel gun, revolvers and bullets were also recovered from him. The Maoists have a presence in rural pockets of 20 of India's 28 states. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has termed them as the country's biggest internal security threat.
