After the AMRI fire mishap, West Bengal has been stung by yet another tragedy as over 100 people have died after consuming illegal countrymade liquor in South 24 Parganas district of the state. Over a 100 others have been hospitalized and are reported to be critical. Many of the victims are labourers, rickshaw pullers and hawkers. According to police, four people have been arrested. Meanwhile, the state government has announced Rs 2 lakh as compensation for the family of each victim.
