Weir restored in Kashmir improving river water levels, navigation

A historical weir in Kashmir has been restored after three decades, improving water levels in rivers and facilitating navigation. In good old days, rivers in Kashmir were the main mode of transportation and the weir would control water levels in the rivers. Due to turmoil in the state, the weir had become dysfunctional.
