Women politicians can end India's gender bias: UN

The UN women executive director Michelle Bachelet, who is on a visit to New Delhi, said that giving women more voice in India's political arena will help end rampant gender discrimination and crimes such as rape, child marriage and female foeticide in the country. Bachelet further said that until women share powerful positions in the political spaces, their voices are not heard. She added that gender equality in politics will result in the empowerment of women.
