Nobel Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai weighed in on the ongoing Hijab controversy raging in Karnataka. Muslim students alleged that they were barred from attending classes wearing headscarves. The Nobel Peace laureate & women’s rights activist took to Twitter to share her horror over the row. She wrote in her tweet, “Refusing to let girls go to school in their hijabs is horrifying. Objectification of women persists — for wearing less or more. Indian leaders must stop the marginalisation of Muslim women.” Malala quoted a report where a Muslim student said that they were being forced to choose between studies & hijab.
