Compared to last year, Pakistan lost 16 spots on the Corruption Perceptions Index 2021 as per the Transparency International report. The report ranked Pakistan at 140 out of 180 countries on the corruption perceptions index. The opposition leaders in Pakistan slammed the Imran Khan government over the report and demanded that the 'corrupt rulers' quit since Pakistan could no longer afford their plunder. Meanwhile, India improved its ranking by one spot, moving to 85th rank on the index but the Transparency International raised concern over India's democratic status. The anti-corruption watchdog called India's case worrying and said some of the mechanisms that could help reign in corruption are weakening. Watch full video.
