Punjab Polls: Parties bet on fresh faces; Can 1st timers be the game changer?

Elections in Punjab are just days away, Political parties to boost their chances and present a new avatar in front of voters are banking heavily on fresh faces. With the entry of new outfits and forging of alliances, a large number of first-timers have got a chance to try their luck in politics. In all, of 585 candidates fielded by political outfits, 40% are fresh faces. The Shiromani Akali Dal has fielded 26 first timers, Congress has fielded 17 and Aam Aadmi Party 15 fresh faces.
