V. D. Satheesan officially took oath as the new Chief Minister of Kerala following the Congress-led UDF’s sweeping electoral victory. Satheesan and 20 cabinet ministers were sworn in by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar in the presence of top leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Alliance partners, including the Indian Union Muslim League, were also represented in the cabinet. The UDF secured a commanding 102 seats in the 140-member Kerala Assembly.
