Prime Minister inaugurated the centenary celebrations of the historic Chauri Chaura incident, a landmark event in the country's fight for Independence via video conference. PM Modi expressed his gratitude to freedom fighters and said that the way India has progressed and walking on the path of self-reliance would make freedom fighters proud. PM Modi also said that the budget, which was presented by the Finance Minister recently, was also a step in this direction. PM Modi took a jibe at the opposition and said that earlier the Budget had been reduced to an exercised where undeliverable promises would be made. The Prime Minister said that while his government had been expected to raise taxes following the pandemic, it has decided to increase spending which he said would ensure that jobs are also created for the youth.
