WhatsApp sues govt over new digital media rules; cites 2017 SC privacy verdict

The war between social media giants and the Indian government over the new digital media rules has now taken a legal turn. WhatsApp has now sued the Indian government over the provision that makes it mandatory for social media giants to identify the first originator of a message. The messaging app has said that it violates their end-to-end encryption policy and said that asking messaging apps to 'trace' chats is the equivalent of asking fingerprint of every single message sent on WhatsApp. Watch the full video for all the details.
