Pakistan Cries Foul After India Stops Karachi-Bound Ship In Mumbai: ‘Violation Of...’

Pakistan, in its first reaction to India seizing a Karachi-bound ship, accused New Delhi of violating international norms. India had stopped the ship in Mumbai and said it contained nuclear cargo. Pakistan, however, claimed that the ship was only transporting commercial goods. “Pakistan condemns India’s high-handedness in seizure of commercial goods. This disruption of free trade underscores the dangers inherent in arbitrary assumption of policing roles by states with dubious credentials,” Pakistan’s Foreign Office said.
