Dhoni's brigade skips ICC's awards ceremony

The Indian team missed out on the International Cricket Council's annual awards ceremony after the ICC, strangely, failed to send out the invite till Monday afternoon. However, cricketers and administrators from countries affiliated to ICC thronged to Grosvenor House in London, for the awards ceremony, yesterday. Former India captain, Sunil Gavaskar, said that award ceremonies are a good means of providing memorable symbols to players at the high points in their careers. The eighth annual ICC awards saw English batsman Jonathan Trott receiving the Cricketer of the Year award. Alastair Cook, England's One-Day International (ODI) captain, received the Test player of the year award.
