Jamie Chadwick won the second season W Series—an all-female single-seater racing championship—at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin on October 24. This was after the British racing driver won the inaugural season too in 2019 before the 2020 season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 23-year-old is now closest to a Formula 1 seat than any other female on the planet, having earned the amount of super license points required to be part of F1 Friday practice sessions. Partially of Indian origin, Chadwick also competes in sports car racing and is also part of the inaugural Extreme E Championship—an electric off-road racing series—which raises climate awareness.
