Golfing legend Arnold Palmer died in Pittsburgh on Sunday at the age of 87. Palmer played in at least one PGA tour event every year for 52 years and was known for driving golf to unprecedented popularity. Palmer had checked into a hospital for heat work on Thursday and grew weaker before dying of complications from heart problems. Palmer was known as “the king” and during the 1960s and 70s, his hard-charging style and charisma helped expand golf’s appeal from the country clubs to the masses. His career included 62 PGA tour wins and seven major championships.
