Five Indian-American lawmakers, known as the Samosa Caucus, have warned of “significant damage to ties” if the issue of alleged assassination attempt on Khalistani radical Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is not addressed appropriately. “We believe the US–India partnership has made a meaningful impact on the lives of both of our people. But, we are concerned that the actions outlined in the indictment could, if not appropriately addressed, cause significant damage to this very consequential partnership,” the five lawmakers said after a secret briefing by the Biden administration on Indian man Nikhil Gupta’s indictment in the ‘kill Pannun’ plot.
