Ahead of the assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, Home Minister Amit Shah kickstarted BJP’s campaign in western region of the state. Amit Shah first visited the Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura and then conducted a door-to-door campaign in the region. This comes a day after he met with 200 Jat leaders in a closed-door meeting in the national capital. Amit Shah’s meeting and the poll campaign is part of the BJP’s fresh strategy to consolidate Jat votes in the crucial western Uttar Pradesh belt. The BJP is trying to fight the ‘unpopularity’ perception in the region following the year-long farmer agitation over the new farm laws which currently stand repealed. In Mathura, Amit Shah took potshots at the previous SP and BSP governments and highlighted how the Yogi-led BJP government in the state stood for the entire society and not for any particular caste. Watch for more details.
