'West's Ego...': Russia Rips U.S. After UNSC Rejects Resolution On Israel-Palestine Ceasefire

Russia has lashed out at the U.S. after the UN Security Council rejected Moscow's resolution calling for an Israel-Palestine ceasefire. The UNSC said that the resolution condemned Israel for violence in Gaza but did not mention Hamas. "We regret that the council once again finds itself hostage to the ego and selfish intentions of the Western bloc of countries. It is the only reason why it was not able to send a clear, strong and collective message aimed at de-escalation," said Vassily Nebenzia, Russia's ambassador to the UN.
