A major security incident has been declared near RAF Fairford in Britain after several men were arrested on suspicion of explosives-related offences. Gloucestershire Police said properties in nearby Whelford were evacuated, while Army explosive ordnance experts examined several vehicles. RAF Fairford hosts U.S. Air Force operations and has been used for American military activity linked to the Iran conflict. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had previously warned that British bases supporting U.S. strikes could be considered legitimate targets. Police said the latest incident was contained, while U.S. forces at the base remained vigilant. Authorities have not confirmed any connection between the arrests and the airbase.
