Facebook-parent company Meta is likely to become the latest Silicon Valley tech major to scale back its workforce after Twitter sacked nearly 4,000 of its employees worldwide. Facebook is planning a large-scale layoff, and retrenchment may begin as soon as November 9, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. While announcing Meta's disappointing third quarter results, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the firm's staff would not increase by the end of 2023 and might even decrease slightly.
