Amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, senior Iranian leaders have issued fresh warnings over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy chokepoint through which a significant share of the world's oil and gas supplies pass. Iran's Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad reportedly described the Strait of Hormuz as Iran's "nuclear bomb", arguing that the waterway gives Tehran enormous leverage despite international pressure and military threats.
