Taliban surround Kabul, in talks with Ashraf Ghani govt for power transition

Taliban are in talks with Afghan government for a peaceful transition of power as insurgents camp on Kabul outskirts after a full sweep across Afghanistan. President Ashraf Ghani is likely stepping down anytime soon as his Interior Minister confirmed that the talks are underway with Taliban. The insurgent group has directed its fighters not to storm the city as it is seeking a peaceful transition of power in Kabul. Meanwhile, United States has started evacuating its diplomats from Kabul embassy. With Taliban set to takeover power, UN Security Council might hold an emergency meeting over the situation in Afghanistan.
