During a GOP event in Washington, Donald Trump recounted a dramatic story in which he claimed French President Emmanuel Macron initially refused to raise prescription drug prices, only to cave when Trump threatened a 25% tariff on French exports, including wine and champagne. Trump said Macron told him he’d “love” to hike prices by “200% or whatever” as long as Trump did not “tell the population,” adding that “every country said the same thing.”
