2007 was a year of political upheavel in Pakistan. On March 9th, the political history of Pak took a new turn, when President Musharraf suspended Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary. In September, former Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan but was immediately deported to Saudi Arabia. On Nov 3rd, Musharraf declared a state of Emergency in the country whioch he later lifted on Dec 15th . On Nov 28th, Musharraf handed over the post to General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani.
