Pakistan authorities on Friday freed opposition leader Benazir Bhutto from house arrest in the early hours of the morning. She was freed just hours after Musharraf appointed Senate chairman Mohammadmian Soomro, a close ally, as caretaker prime minister to oversee the elections. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on November 15 said that he would contest the upcoming general election from two constituencies.
