Egypt opens its border with Gaza Strip easing entry for Palestinians

After four years, Egypt permanently opened the Gaza Strip's main gateway to the outside world 'on a daily basis'on Saturday, easing entry restrictions for Palestinians.The move,which was expected to raise Israel's objections,suggested a further policy shift since the overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak, whose government cooperated with the Jewish state in enforcing a blockade on the Islamist Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip and has a 1979 peace treaty with Israel.Palestinians who arrived at the crossing in early morning voiced satisfaction with the opening of the only gateway for Gazans to the world.
