Nelson Mandela admitted to hospital

Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital today with a long-standing abdominal complaint. However, relatives and South African president Jacob Zuma's office have confirmed that the 93-year-old former president's health is good and the treatment is a routine one. The authorities and his relatives have however not revealed where Mandela was hospitalized and appealed to the nation to respect his privacy. The nobel laureate was the first South African president to be elected in a fully representative democratic election in the country.
