Pak SC disqualifies PM Gilani Following his conviction for contempt of court on April 26, the Pakistan Supreme Court today disqualified Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, thereby ruling out National Assembly Speaker Fehmida Mirza's verdict as void. The Supreme Court also directed the Election Commission to issue a notification that Gilani was no longer a member of the Majlis-e-Shoora or Parliament. President Asif Ali Zardari has been directed to play a constitutional role to fill up the gap left by Gilani.
