SL suicide blast kills 12

A suicide bomber killed 12 military officers and injured many outside a police station in northern Sri Lanka on Monday morning. The injured mostly includes school children. The blast occurred during morning rush hour directly in front of the police building in Vavuniya town near Colombo. The Tamil Tigers, who are fighting for an independent state in the north and east, were not immediately available for comment on the blast.
