The chief of Iran's armed forces has vowed "firm action" after the US strikes.

Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said that he had a good meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding that they discussed in detail the development of the situation in the Middle East, RIA news agency reported.

A US official told news agency Reuters that Iranian retaliation against the United States could come "as soon as next day or two".

This comes after the US military struck three Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday.

Two US officials told news agency Reuters that Washington has assessed high risk of retaliation from Iran against the US forces soon.

However, they said that the US is still pursuing diplomatic resolution.

Iran said that it has arrested an 'European' spy for Israel. This is the latest in the series of arrests Iranian authorities have made on the suspicion of alleged ‘Mossad’ spies collecting information for Israel in the country. 

Israel Iran war live: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Monday that the Donald Trump administration is confident that its weekend airstrikes "completely and totally obliterated" three of Iran's nuclear facilities – Fordow, Natanz and Efsahan.

Speaking to "Good Morning America" amid questions about the extent of the damage done at the Fordow site in particular, which is built hundreds of feet inside a mountain to the south of Tehran.

Israel Iran war live: US President Donald Trump is 'still interested' in Iran diplomacy, news agency AFP reported, citing the White House.

US on Saturday struck three Iranian nuclear facilities, joining Israeli campaign against Iran.

German chancellor Friedrich Merz said that there is no reason for him to criticize the US or Israel for the attacks on Iran.

Qatar on Monday said that the security situation was stable, after the US Embassy emailed a message to American citizens advising them to 'shelter-in'place' until further notice.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansar said the embassy advisory did not indicate the presence of any specific threat.

"The country is prepared to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of its citizens and residents," his statement added.

Finnair said on Monday that it had cancelled its flights to and from Qatar's capital Doha through June 30 due to the security concerns over the rising tensions in the Middle East region.

Air France said that it will suspend its flights to the Israeli city of Tel Aviv until July 14, adding that the company has also suspended flights to and from Lebanon's capital Beirut until June 25.

The airline is also cancelling flights to and from Dubai, in United Arab Emirates, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, until June 24.

Iran said that the US strikes on its nuclear facilities over the weekend have delivered an "irreparable blow" to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Iran’s envoy for the International Atomic Energy Agency, Reza Najafi, described US attacks as an act of aggression that “delivered a fundamental and irreparable blow to the international non-proliferation regime conclusively demonstrating that the existing NPT framework has been rendered ineffective.”

A German government official said, on the escalating Iran conflict, it is aware that the US is also working on diplomatic talks.

Power has been restored in northern Tehran after Israeli strikes, reports state media.

Saudi Arabia's crude oil exports in April role to 6.166 million barrels per day (bpd) from 5.754 million bpd in March, official data showed on Monday.

The world's largest oil exporter's crude output for April was at 9.005 million bpd, up from 8.957 million bpd in March, Reuters reported.

A German government official said that the country is "adapting security measures over possible counterattacks" following the Iranian strikes. It also discussed the same with Britain and France.

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent his foreign minister to Moscow on Monday to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin for more help from the country after the US strikes on Tehran.

The Israeli military said that it struck Revolutionary Guard command Tharallah that is in charge of Tehran's security.

The three tankers that previously changed course, are now sailing towards the Strait of Hormuz, as per data from the Marinetraffic Shipping.

According to Marinetraffic Shipping Data, three oil and chemical tankers divert away from the Strait of Hormuz.

An Israeli strike on Evin prison in Tehran is "completely irresponsible" and "puts our loved ones in mortal danger," said Noemie Kohler, the sister of French national Cecile Kohler held in Iran, on Monday.

"We have no news, we don't know if they are still alive, we're panicking," Kohler told AFP.

The Israeli military said that it struck Fordow enrichment site to obstruct the access routes to it.

The Israeli military on Monday said that it was striking command centres of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards and other domestic security forces responsible for "maintaining the regime's stability".

"These forces consist of various corps and command centers and are responsible, on behalf of the Iranian regime's military, for defending the homeland security, suppressing threats, and maintaining the regime's stability," it said in a statement.

China on Monday warned against "the spillover of war", urging the international community to do more to prevent the fighting from impacting the world's economy, noting the global importance of the Gulf maritime trade routes off the Iranian coast.
