The maritime authority said that the attack happened around 7:55 am in the strait, when the container was approached by a gunboat belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which gave no radio warning before it “fired upon the vessel," CNN reported.

No damage has been reported.
