In the clip, he says: “I got bad news for everybody. I gotta quit YouTube. I can't do this anymore. I'm quitting, I'm stopping.”

The statement gained traction online, with some users initially unsure whether the announcement was genuine.

Revelation clears confusion

However, the same video ends with a clear reveal: “And guess what? April Fools, green apples!”

The closing line indicates that the announcement was part of an April Fools’ Day prank. The timing of the post, April 1, further supports that the claim was not meant to be taken seriously.

There has been no official confirmation from the creator suggesting any real plans to step away from YouTube.

Fans identify the prank

Many users in the comments section appeared to recognise the joke almost immediately.

Some responses included:

“Nice try Speed”

“I know it’s an April Fools”

“Weakest April Fools joke ever”

Others suggested the stunt felt familiar, with comments like:

“bro says this every year”

“does this gimmick every year”

However, these claims from users remain anecdotal and are not independently verified.

Known for exaggerated online persona

IShowSpeed is widely known for his high-energy and unpredictable style of content, which often includes reactions and humorous moments designed to engage viewers.

Based on the available information, there is no indication that IShowSpeed is actually quitting YouTube. The viral post appears to be a lighthearted April Fools’ prank.

For now, the creator’s presence on the platform appears unchanged.
