According to People, Luigi Mangione was born in May 1998 to a prominent family outside Baltimore, Maryland. His late grandfather was a multimillionaire real estate developer and his cousin, Nino Mangione, is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, according to The New York Times.
Mangione attended an all-boys private school in Baltimore called Gilman School, where he graduated as valedictorian in 2016, as per People. He then studied engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2020. After college, he moved to Hawaii but stopped communicating with his family around June 2024.
