What Patrick found after returning home

When he returned, he said the house was unusually quiet. He searched upstairs and found the master bedroom locked. After opening it with a spare key, he saw blood on the floor and an open window.

Patrick Clancy said he ran outside and found Lindsay Clancy on the ground below the window with cuts on her wrist and neck. When he asked, "What happened?" she replied, "I tried to kill myself,"

He then went into the basement, where he found the three children with exercise bands around their necks. Cora and Dawson were later ruled dead, and Callan died a few days later after being placed on life support.

Did Patrick killed them?

Many people have asked why Patrick Clancy was never investigated as a suspect, especially with the defense arguing Lindsay Clancy had postpartum psychosis.

Lawyer Margaret McLean told Parade that Patrick Clancy was not charged because investigators found no proof he knowingly failed to protect his children. She said, “Patrick Clancy has not been charged with child neglect or abuse because investigators found no evidence of a conscious or reckless failure to protect his children.”

However, according to prosecutors, Lindsay, 35, “acted intentionally, rationally and swiftly” when she fatally strangled her three children at their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023.

And according to USA Today, Patrick Clancy has been cleared by police and is not facing any charges in the case. He is not on trial.

Bizarre searches on Lindsay Clancy’s phone emerge in court

According to People, Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Timothy Chiappini, who was in charge of pulling data from Lindsay Clancy's phone, told the court that she had searched "can you treat a sociopath" on January 20, 2023, just four days before her children were killed.

Chiappini also read out some notes on the phone about Lindsay Clancy's personal struggles. He mentioned that a search about "hallucinations" was also made days before the killings

Lindsay does not deny killing the children, but her defense says she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and had been overmedicated.
