Bryon Noem and his wife, former Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem, finally broke their silence after a report this week stated that the insuarance executive shared images of himself dressed in women's clothing and was part of a fetish community.
Bryon speaks up
The New York Times stated that it got in touch with Bryon Noem via text message, even asking him for an interview.
“I will at some point,” he reportedly said in a text message on Tuesday. “Today is not the day. I appreciate your heart.”
The allegations against Bryon have sparked disbelief among people who know the family, the report further added. In South Dakota, near the Noems’ hometown, one longtime acquaintance dismissed the claims outright. “I don’t believe that at all,” the friend said.
$25,000 allegations
Additional details from a Daily Mail report allege that Bryon Noem sent messages to women in those circles and used digital payment platforms such as CashApp and PayPal to transfer significant sums of money, reportedly totaling at least $25,000. He is also said to have made “indiscreet remarks” about his wife in those exchanges. However, when contacted, he denied putting his wife at risk of blackmail.
Kristi Noem responds
The fallout has extended to Kristi Noem, who recently lost her position as Secretary of Homeland Security after being appointed by President Donald Trump last year. Representatives told the New York Post that she is “devastated” by the situation. “The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time.”
Trump also addressed the controversy briefly, expressing sympathy. He told reporters he felt “badly for the family.”
“They confirmed it? Wow… I feel badly for the family if that's the case. I haven't seen anything. I don't know anything about it. That's too bad, but I just know nothing about it,” he said.
Kristi and Bryon have three children: daughters Kassidy, 31, and Kennedy, 29, and a son, Booker, 23. Both daughters have children of their own.
