"We firmly believe that quick action to prosecute and punish the guilty will go a long way in preventing future such mischief and will begin the process of healing the wounds and damage done to the fabric of communal harmony," said Non Residents for Secular and harmonious India (NRI-SAHI), in a statement issued yesterday.
"We call upon the new Home Minister P C Chidambram to follow the instructions of Justice Liberhan to prosecute and bring to justice all the 68 persons found to be guilty of violation of the laws of the land," NRI-SAHI said.
Applauding the report by Justice Man Mohan Singh Liberhan, NRI-SAHI thanked him for the patience he has shown for 17 years against the "obstructionist and delaying tactics" of the BJP and its allies.
"We agree with the commission’s conclusion that the destruction of Babri Masjid was the first step in their efforts to destroy the secular character of the India," NRI-SAHI said.
