'Pakistan convoy blast was a suicide attack'

A bomb blast that hit a convoy of Chinese nationals and Pakistani security forces on Thursday, killing at least 20 Pakistanis, was a suicide attack, police said.

"A suicide bomber blew himself up, killing at least 20 Pakistani people, including one policeman," provincial police chief Tariq Khosa told AFP. "The bomber driving a Mazda car blew himself up near the convoy."

The massive blast ripped through the town of Hub in gas-rich Baluchistan province, which has been wracked by a nearly three-year insurgency by separatist tribal rebels seeking greater autonomy.
