It was a small private gathering on Friday, the Wall Street Journal quoted a person familiar with the matter as saying.

The person did not reveal where or at what time the event took place, citing privacy for Jobs' family.

Jobs passed away at the age of 56, having fought for years with pancreatic cancer.

Apple has said no public services have been planned as yet for Jobs. He died of complications from pancreatic cancer in Palo Alto, California, on Wednesday.
