Six police among eight killed in Iraq suicide attack

A suicide bomber detonated a car packed with explosives in the centre of the western Iraqi city of Ramadi on Sunday, killing eight people including six policemen, police and a doctor said.

A suicide bomber detonated a car packed with explosives in the centre of the western Iraqi city of Ramadi on Sunday, killing eight people including six policemen, police and a doctor said.

The blast occurred at around 10:00 am (0700 GMT) near the offices of the Anbar provincial government, and also left 20 people wounded, according to police Major Rahim Zabin.

A doctor at Ramadi hospital, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the toll.
