UAE hails role of Indians in its economic growth

The UAE government hails the role of the Indians in the region, saying they are contributing to the region's economic growth.

The UAE government has hailed the role of the Indian community living and working in the region and said they were contributing to the region's economic growth.

The reason for strong India-UAE relations is because the Indian community living and working in the country enjoys respect and are contributing to the building of the local community, UAE minister of higher education and scientific research, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said on Monday.

He said they were especially making a contribution to the economic and trade fields in the UAE.

The minister was speaking at a dinner banquet at his palace hosted in honour of Rajan Bharti Mittal, vice chairman and managing director of Bharti Telecom.

Mittal was part of an Indian delegation led by minister of commerce, industry and textiles, Anand Sharma, which took part in the inaugural meeting of the UAE-India High Level Task Force on Investments in Dubai.
